A well-balanced smoothie can provide a range of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. After decades of trail and error, research and talking to many other people, I beleive I have found a great Protein Smoothie! This Ultimate Protein Smoothie includes whole fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamins A, C and K, as well as potassium and fiber.  By adding protein powder,  it becomes a delicious, nutrient rich, muscle building and recovery shake.

Ingredients

Exchange any of these ingredients with your favorites.  Makes about 28oz

  • Blueberries (3oz approximately 85 grams)
  • Pineapple chunks (1.25oz approximately 35.44 grams)
  • Avocado slices (3oz approximately 85 grams)
  • Mango slices (2.5oz approximately 70.87 grams)
  • Banana (1oz approximately 28.35 grams)
  • Chia Seeds (5/8oz approximately 17.72 grams)
  • Garden/Spring Mix or Baby Spinach/Kale Mix (3oz approximately 85 grams)
  • Organic Protein Powder (1.5oz approximately 42.52 grams)
  • Seltzer Water (12 oz)
  • Crushed Ice (approximately 1/2 cup)

Obviously you can use your favorite veggies, fruits and protein powder to make a similar shake. This is the healthiest combination I found to work with great results and is very delicious. I take it after my workouts and I am not left feeling full or hungry. Even on the days that I do not workout, I still make a shake to start my day. Try it and let us know what you think.
